Russia Demands American Military Aircraft Stay Out Of Syria
Need any additional convincing that the U.S. is viewed as a paper tiger by friend and foe alike? The Jerusalem Post and Fox News report this morning that “Russia has demanded that American warplanes exit Syrian airspace immediately,” according to an unnamed U.S. official. Russian diplomats (a three-star Russian general) sent an official message to the U.S. (a demarche to the U.S. Military Attache) to stay out of Syria, as Russian warplanes step up their operations to protect and prop-up the butcher of Damascus — Bashar al-Assad. Russian warplanes are reportedly conducting strikes in Syria, as I write this note — no doubt bombing any remnants of the Free Syrian Army, in addition to ISIS targets. What is next? Will the Russian military shoot down a U.S. drone over Syria?
The U.S. has officially rebuffed the Russian demand, according to both news outlets. But, just the fact that Putin had the audacity to authorize such a statement — just goes to show how a foe of America views its leadership. This is what happens when you have a POTUS and a national security team acting more like Neville Chamberlain, than Ronald Reagan or Winston Churchill. Sad….very, very sad. V/R, RCP
