Special Operations Command Gets A New Leader
Jim Garamone posted an a March 29, 2019 article to Defense.gov, noting that “Army General Raymond A.Thomas passed command of U.S. Special Operations Command to Army General Richard D. Clarke during a change-of-command ceremony in Tampa, Florida last week. Please go to Defense.gov for the entire article. Gen. Clarke, as was Gen. Thomas, is a West Point graduate, and his previous assignment was the Director of Strategic Plans & Policy on the Joint Chiefs of Staff/Joint Staff. Gen. Thomas pledged to “build on what Gen. Clarke had started; and, pledged to explore [place emphasis and effort] machine learning and artificial intelligence.” Gen.
